Johann Said is sent-off as Fgura defeated Mgarr 4-1. The Greens had Jonathan Ebejer (suspended) & Matthew Muscat (sick) missing but Gordon Said was back from serving one match ban and Malcolm Bugeja finally started the match from the bench after four months recovery.
The Greens did not played well at all in the first part of the match, Fgura opened the lead in the 28th minute. Mgarr replied with a couple occasions, Mark Deguara's header went wide & Jeffrey Gauci's shot fired high. On 40th minute Mgarr awarded a penalty but unfortunately Mark Deguara failed to make it 1-1, his shot saved by the keeper. Three minutes later Fgura made it 2-0 from Penalty after Johann Said received a straight red card for hand ball and penalty kick was given.
The second half Mgarr played better, but Fgura soon after re-start made it 3-0. But Mgarr pressed and Paul Fenech scored from the left after an individual effort. Minutes later Chris Abela nearly scored a fantastic, hit the post from a scissor-kick. Fgura score the fourth goal in the 92nd minute.
Fgura now are second in the league thanks to all other matches that finished in their favour, leaders Pembroke Athleta dropped two points as they were held in a 1-1 draw by Mdina Knights while Ghaxaq failed to take advantage as they lost 1-3 to Swieqi United and Xghajra Tornadoes defeated Santa Lucia 4-2.
